Asset-Based Thinking for Family and Community Engagement:

Overview: Participants will define Asset-Based Thinking and it's relationship to Culturally Responsive Practices (CRP). Participants will explore where I am on my Culturally Responsive journey and what it means to be inclusive and responsive and will create a plan for raising awareness of CRP practices with the families I support.


Specifications: 2 hours

20 participants

Participants will need a computer with a camera and microphone


Learning Experience

  • Participants will understand how a strength-based model which helps value students/families by shifting the focus to their strengths 
  • Participants will understand how those assets can help students and families become partners. 
  • Participants will read scenarios to prompt their thinking about supporting an asset-based thinking model.
